Ever wanted to climb a mountain and not be sore, sweaty, and hours away from civilization? The Cox Bay Mountain is the place for you! A small mountain located at the edge of Long Beach, it’s an unregulated hike, but well known by the locals so finding it as a traveler should be no challenge. The hike itself is easy and scenic. Within half an hour of hiking, you should be at the top. While the View from the resort side is captivating, if you venture up the mountain for another ten minutes you’ll be given a view straight out of Jurassic Park. You’ll overlook a massive rainforest with lakes inside it and a mountain range on the outskirts. Personally, I think its a hike that’s better in the rainy weather. The view of the rolling fog over the rainforest below as it hides and reveals mountains with the passing breeze takes you into a movie. It’s a hike I’d recommend to anyone with an able body who passes through Tofino. Its quick and the sight is well worth some sacrificed Netflix time.
